Position Summary
Freezer Operator is responsible for the freezing of product, monitoring/operation of blast freezer pods, packaging product, storage and organization of packaged product. Also, responsible for freezer food safety record keeping and lot tracking software data entry. Working directly with the plant manager the freezer operator will have a solid understanding and communication of what/where/how much product the company holds in its Sitka, AK location.

Airfare to Sitka, Alaska provided for employees in the lower 48. This is a seasonal full-time position. Length of service and hours worked will depend on business needs.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support freezer operations including but not limited to product movement, quality assurance, packaging, shipping, food safety record keeping, and inventory control software data input.
  • Daily shift change reports, weekly or as needed stock counts, weekly inventory and logistics meetings.
Position Requirements
  • Basic math and English language skills, able to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently, safely, and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a team in a fast paced and goal-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of basic sanitation practices, basic math skills.
  • Strong spatial organization and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
  • Prior experience working in the fishing or food industry a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Must be willing to work up to 12-hour shifts daily.
  • Work extended hours with uneven shifts during peak operations.
  • Tools include tablets, computers, scales, printers, pallets, pallet jacks, hoists, trucks, forklift (with certification).
  • Work is partially performed in an environment at or below freezing, personal protective equipment is provided, some work may be outdoors in rainy weather.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 70 pounds, safely operate a motor vehicle, and tolerate cold temperatures.
