Modeled after community-supported agriculture (CSA), we provide high-quality, traceable seafood, with a purpose, to tens of thousands of home cooks.  We source our fish from our network of small-boat fishermen-owners and partners and also process fish at our plant in Sitka, Alaska. About The Position: Sitka Salmon Shares, a growing, and unique values-driven seafood company seeks an experienced marketing analyst to serve as the data expert to the marketing and communications team, helping to inform strategic initiatives and drive a culture of measurable improvement. This position will work closely with the chief officer of communications and community, supporting data-driven assessments, improvements, and scaling of a multitude of C&C projects. They will provide the critical insights needed to determine marketing growth opportunities and gaps, forecasting, and performance tracking along with building systems to monitor member pathway engagements, successes, and opportunities. An ideal candidate will have well-rounded experience in marketing, specifically in data mining and analysis and project management, and will thrive in an ever-growing and changing environment.

 

CORE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis regarding campaign performance, industry trends, and opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Use data mining skills to identify, leverage, and improve audience segments.
  • Lead market and consumer research, including management of external firms and coordination with CTO and operations team.
  • Create meaningful presentations and reports for a variety of audiences, including company leadership.
  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to identify key performance indicators and build tracking systems that measure those KPIs with a view toward company objectives.
  • Leverage strong strategic insight to optimize and guide marketing programs, campaigns, and projects.
  • Build automated daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc marketing reports.
  • Develop and maintain a library of case studies, insights, trends, and best practices.
  • Aggregate data from multiple sources into a single marketing dashboard.
  • Support C&C team on data needs, including regular and ad hoc segmentation and reporting.
  • Work closely with our member delight team to analyze member satisfaction survey data, including NPS scores.
  • Proactively analyze data, identify trends, and develop recommendations for changes to investment and marketing strategies across the channels.
  • Partner closely with the C&C team to assist with translating campaign data and past performance into more predictive forecasting and analytical models for marketing.
  • With company leadership, play a lead role in the selection and implementation of BI tools and marketing management systems.

 

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of leadership in marketing data manipulation, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Proven ability to drive marketing decisions by  synthesizing big picture ideas, tactical plans, and complex data sets
  • Experience corralling data and building presentations for quarterly progress reports and board reports.
  • Experience building customer models and pathways based on datasets.
  • Experience authoring reports and managing Metric and Dimension data models inside BI platforms like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI  
  • Comfortable reading and occasionally modifying simple and complex SQL statements to access the data 
  • Ability and desire to build processes and data-driven best practices to increase productivity and synergies across the company.
  • Ability to communicate challenges as opportunities for improvement, highly organized, task-oriented, natural problem solver, self-starter.
  • Fluency in Excel, Google Sheets, and other business productivity tools
  • Professional training or certification in reporting visualization methodologies. 
  • Undergraduate degree in communications, marketing, business, or similar preferred.
  • Passion for local food, community, and/or environmental stewardship, with a strong desire to learn more about fisheries and seafood.

JOB SCOPE AND COMPENSATION:

  • Full-time position, with an expected weekly workload of 40 hours including some nights and weekends, depending on deadlines and projects. 
  • Yearly reviews will be done to assess position and pay.
