About Our Company: Founded in 2012 by a food systems professor from the Midwest and a fisherman from Sitka, Alaska, Sitka Salmon Shares is now one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing community-supported fisheries (CSF). Modeled after community-supported agriculture (CSA), we provide high-quality, traceable seafood, with a purpose, to tens of thousands of home cooks.  We source our fish from our network of small-boat fishermen-owners through our fish plant in Sitka as well as through partnerships with small-scale fishermen in other parts of the state. Our Company is built on the values of supporting small-boat, family fishermen in Alaska, and cultivating healthy and sustainable food systems in the places we live, work, fish, and play. 

 

About The Position: Sitka salmon shares is looking for an experienced training professional to lead our internal and customer-facing training efforts.

The corporate training role is responsible for working with leadership to develop a corporate-wide training program.  They will lead to the development of implementing organizational learning programs and work with managers to identify job/area-specific training needs.  They will develop a network of resources and training solutions to deliver on the learning needs. The position will have a holistic understanding of the training needs of the organization.  

 

CORE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in conjunction with leadership to develop a corporate training objective, timeline, and delivery plan.
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify job or area training needs.  
  • Coordinate the development of training materials, user manuals, and other dynamic and interactive learning solutions.
  • Develop a network of resources and training solutions.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate workshop training logistics, facilitate blended training workshops (in-person and virtual).
  • Serve as the LMS Administrator by setting up courses, sessions, and new users in the LMS. This will include retrieving reports as well as leading users and content audits.
  • Assist with company documentation efforts including enhancing and coordinating efforts to maintain the company knowledge base. This may include establishing and implementing the process for content gathering and publishing.
  • Prepare presentations, decks, spreadsheet analyses, and other documents to present new concepts and findings.
  • Assist HR Director with other Learning & Organizational Development projects and activities such as onboarding redesign projects and strategic planning sessions.
  • Track and report project statuses via established dashboard tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience designing and delivering corporate and/or technical training necessary
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles & instructional design principles
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems. Content Management Systems (CMS) such as SharePoint & Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) software such as Mail Chimp a plus.
  • Excellent presentation, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office products (i.e.Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Publisher) Google Drive
