About Our Company: Founded in 2012 by a food systems professor from the Midwest and a fisherman from Sitka, Alaska, Sitka Salmon Shares is now one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing Community Supported Fisheries (CSF). Modeled after Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), we provide high-quality, traceable seafood, with a purpose, to thousands of home cooks in the Midwest and beyond. We source our fish from our network of fishermen-owners through our fish plant in Sitka as well as through partnerships with small-scale fishermen in other parts of the state. Our Company is built on the values of supporting small-boat, family fishermen in Alaska, and cultivating healthy and sustainable food systems in the places we live, work, fish, and play.

 

About the Position: The Executive Assistant plays an integral role in Corporate Administration for Sitka Salmon Shares. This Executive Assistant will work to ensure that the Senior Executive team is supported in every aspect and work very closely with the CEO and CAO. Duties are broad, complex, varied and require discretion and good judgment, and may be confidential in nature. From managing vendors, organizing timelines, creating processes and protocols, this role is central to ensuring seamless coordination across the company.

Skills, Experience, and Requirements

  • Maintain the CEO schedule and assists with scheduling meetings. Coordinate other administrative needs including travel, itineraries, logistics, expense reports, etc.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to follow up on issues and projects.
  • Assist with facilities management, coordinate internal events and execute projects and cultural initiatives that encourage positive collaboration.
  • Work closely with the CAO on special projects that help add bandwidth to teams throughout the company.
  • Manage large amounts of detail in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Be highly flexible and able to deal well with changing processes, responsibilities and schedules.
  • Prioritize and follow important tasks to ensure that deadlines are met in a timely manner and work under pressure when necessary.
  • Assist in the design, organization and management or any other interconnected, cross-functional projects related to the Corporate Administration team.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer service and response.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to understand and anticipate management needs and expectations
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Project management skills, world-class organization and follow-through
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • 3+ years experience in administrative support
  • Proficient in Google Drive and/or Microsoft Office

Scope, Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend work expected depending on deadlines and projects.
